Google Inc. has taken on the challenge in designing its own browser called Google Chrome. Their intention is to reduce the usage of leading browser Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and take the lead in the internet search market. Google claims they have made a faster easier way to use the internet. How much easier can it get? I really don’t see what sort of improvements can be made to the already existing browsers. I feel like I can already find the information I need fast and affectively. But because I lack the brain power doesn’t mean there aren’t smart inventive people at Google thinking how to make things more efficient. Google wants to tackle the web beyond a internet search engine. However they have a disadvantage compared to their competitor. Internet Explorer is pre-installed on most hard drives running on Microsoft Windows and Google Chrome has to be downloaded. Google Chrome plans to explore deals with PC makers but I don’t think that will be enough. If Explorer is connected to one of the largest companies in the world, Microsoft, I don’t see how they are going to surpass Internet Explorer. I personally cant even think of other programs that are used other than Microsoft Windows to run your computer? I’ve always had my computer running on Microsoft Windows, typed papers on Microsoft Word. That’s just one company that is hard to beat. I think the only way for Google to get ahead is to create a browser for Mac users. Macs are starting to be preferred over PCs and the sooner they come out with the development for Mac the better.

As I’ve been learning more and more about various search engines and Internet pages, I decided to take a look and research the world’s most popular search engine, Google. I read an article including a brief history of Google and how it slowly worked its way up in the world. It started with two men, Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google with only four computers and a $100,000 investment loan. Ten years later, it is now a $150 billion company with nearly 20,000 employees and has earned itself the title of being the most prosperous search engine that changed the world.
With its outstanding popularity and wealth, there have of course created some problems. With the overflow of use and expansion, Google has naturally run into some trafficking issues and regulatory watch. Google keeps “pushing the envelope” as far as regulations, publicity, and availability. Google is now accessible in an easy search box at the top of every Internet browser possible and is the primary search tool on every cell phone and wireless device. Little do we realize it but Google really is taking over the world, or the Internet world. With Page’ and Brin’s very hard work, they are now worth $19 billion a piece.
Google really has made all of our lives a great deal easier. With one click of a mouse we have every bit of information we could ever hope for. YouTube, Gmail, GoogleEarth, and many others have given us the world at our fingertips. Other companies, like Yahoo and AskJeeves, have fallen off the radar as far as opportunity. There simply is no competition with Google. so why should we try to hinder its capabilities? In my opinion, Google is going to take us places we never thought possible. The sky is the limit!

Google Chrome is coming about at a very interesting time, the same time that Microsoft is coming out with their new IE 8. I doubt this is a coincedence. They are trying to directly compete with Microsoft and I believe that they will do very well. Many people are very dedicated to google and that will continue into the use of thier new web brouser. The web brouser they are creating will start to reinvent the use of Web 2.0 tools. They ad blocker itself is a huge step for them.
